Pasting content from a Rich Text Editor (i.e., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, email programs)

It is a good idea to type out your answers in a separate editor, in case of a time-out error. However, we recommend that you use a plain text program like Notepad.

Each time you create content in a rich text editor like Microsoft Word or Google Docs, hidden HTML code is added to your document to make it look nice on screen. If you then paste that content into a form, the hidden formatting can cause an error message upon submission. If this happens, please use your back button to go back to the form and make corrections.

Other sources of errors may be your session timing out, typing html elements into a form field, or entering incorrect data (such as an entire phone number into an area code field). Again, please use your back button to return to the form and make corrections.
